Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
Diesel particulate filters are mainly used in diesel exhaust purification systems to solve air pollution problems. It adopts a honeycomb structure, with independent openings and blocked channels at both ends. Exhaust gas enters from one open end, then passes through the porous honeycomb wall, and finally discharges from the adjacent channel. The carbon particles remain on the channel walls because they are too large to pass through the wall pores and are not emitted into the air.
Diesel particulate filters can effectively remove black smoke (PM, such as hydrocarbons, soot) from diesel engine exhaust, and usually DPF can remove 90% or more of soot.
