Warnings & Precautions

Charging

Discharging

  • Avoid Deep Discharge: Stop using the battery before reaching the cut-off voltage (3.0V for the pack, or 1.0V per cell). Over-discharging can cause irreversible internal damage, such as cell reversal, and shorten its lifespan.
  • Temperature Management: Avoid discharging outside the recommended temperature range (-20°C to +60°C). Extreme cold reduces performance and capacity; extreme heat accelerates aging and increases the risk of venting.

  • Prevent Short Circuits: Never allow the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the connector to touch or short-circuit. This can cause very high currents, leading to extreme overheating, terminal damage, leakage, or fire.

Storage

  • Storage State: For long-term storage (longer than a few months), it is often recommended to store NiCd batteries in a discharged state.
  • Cool and Dry Environment: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat sources. The ideal storage temperature is between -20°C to +35°C.
