Warnings & Precautions
Charging
- Charger: Use a SMART LiPo balance charger ONLY. Set to LiPo, 4S (14.8V).
- Charge Rate: Do not exceed 1C (2.5A) for regular charging. Use 2C (5A) only if supported by the battery and charger.
- Supervision: NEVER charge unattended. Charge in a fireproof container (LiPo bag) on a non-flammable surface.
- Balance Charge: ALWAYS use the balance connector to ensure all cells charge equally to 4.20V.
- Termination: Stop charging immediately if the battery becomes puffy, hot, emits smoke/smell, or shows any damage.
Discharging
- Voltage Limits: NEVER discharge below 12.0V (3.0V per cell). NEVER charge above 16.8V (4.2V per cell).
- Temperature: Allow battery to cool to ambient temperature before charging. Do not use or charge if cell temperature exceeds 60°C (140°F).
- Inspection: Visually inspect before each use for damage, swelling, or loose wires. DO NOT USE if damaged.
- Short Circuit: Cover main leads with insulating caps when not connected. A short circuit can cause instant fire.
- Environment: Keep dry. Do not puncture, crush, or expose to fire.
Storage
- Storage Voltage: For any storage over 48 hours, discharge/charge to 3.80V - 3.85V per cell (15.2V - 15.4V total).
- Storage Location: Store in a cool, dry place (10-25°C ideal) inside a fireproof bag.
- Transport: For air travel, protect terminals. Batteries under 100Wh (like this 37Wh pack) are typically allowed in carry-on baggage in limited quantities (check airline rules).
