Function
Excavator hydraulic main pump serves as hydraulic power core, engine powered to convert mechanical energy into high-pressure oil for boom, arm, bucket, travel and swing hydraulic motors for full machine movements.
Types
Universal axial variable piston pump design; mid-large excavator equipped with integrated dual main pump plus rear pilot pump: main pump working pressure 28~35MPa, pilot pump 3~4MPa for pilot control circuit.
Build Details
Cylinder block with piston groups, angle adjustable swash plate, side flow regulator and distribution valve plate form complete pump unit; regulator changes swash inclination to adjust pump displacement, oil flow and fuel usage.
Three Intelligent Control Systems
Constant power control prevents engine stall via displacement reduction under heavy loads; LS load sensing control saves fuel by on-demand flow output; pressure cut-off protects hydraulic parts by minimizing displacement at ultimate working pressure.
Usual Failures
Inner leakage or jammed regulator → slow & weak excavation; fixed maximum displacement → engine overload & black smoke; severe internal leakage → overheated hydraulic oil; air suction or low oil → abnormal pump noise.
Care Tips
Regular replacement of hydraulic oil and filters, sealed suction pipeline and proper oil level effectively lower pump breakdown probability.
