Function
The hydraulic main pump acts as the core power component of excavator hydraulic circuits. Driven by the prime engine, it realizes the conversion from mechanical energy to high-pressure hydraulic energy, and transports pressurized medium to boom, stick, bucket, travel and swing hydraulic motors to drive all operational movements.

Type
Axial variable displacement piston pumps are widely applied on engineering excavators. Medium and large tonnage excavators adopt integrated dual main pumps equipped with a rear pilot gear pump.
The dual high-pressure pump adopts dual independent oil supply passages, which feed oil to different ports of the main control valve to realize composite actions, with working pressure of 28~35MPa.
The low-pressure pilot pump mounted on the pump tail operates at 3~4MPa with low flow rate, and provides pilot control oil for operating handles and main valve spools.

The swash plate changes its tilt angle to adjust piston stroke and pump volumetric displacement.
The external servo regulator drives the swash plate according to hydraulic feedback signals. Increased tilt angle raises displacement and flow rate to speed up operation; reduced tilt angle lowers fuel consumption and eliminates engine stall risk.
The valve plate separates the low-pressure inlet and high-pressure outlet to complete fluid distribution.

Air entrainment, insufficient hydraulic fluid or damaged bearings and pistons will result in abnormal operating noise.

Maintenance
Replace hydraulic oil and filter elements periodically to prevent abrasive damage to precision parts. Ensure good tightness of suction pipelines to avoid air intake and equipment vibration. Keep hydraulic fluid at the standard level to prevent pump failure.
