Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is a chemical with the chemical formula KH2PO4. Deliquescence. It melts into a transparent liquid when heated to 400°C, and solidifies into opaque glassy potassium metaphosphate after cooling. Stable in the air, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. Industrially used as a buffer and culture agent; also used as a bacterial culture agent to synthesize a flavoring agent forsake, a raw material for making potassium metaphosphate, a culture agent, a strengthening agent, a leavening agent, and a fermentation aid for brewing yeast. Overview
There are many production methods of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, which are roughly summarized as neutralization method, extraction method, ion exchange method, double decomposition method, direct method, crystallization method and electrolysis method. In China, most production processes use neutralization, followed by organic extraction, metathesis, and ion exchange.
Neutralization
The neutralization method is to mix caustic potassium or potassium carbonate into a 30% solution and then send it to the neutralizer, neutralize with 50% phosphoric acid solution under stirring, control the temperature at 80-100℃, and the pH is 4-5, The neutralized product is filtered, concentrated, cooled and crystallized, centrifuged, and dried to obtain the finished product, and the crystallization mother liquor is returned to the concentration section for reuse. The process flow of the neutralization method for producing potassium dihydrogen phosphate is shown in Figure 1 (omitted), and its chemical reaction formula is:
H3PO4 +KOH = KH2PO4 + H2O
2H3PO4 +K2CO3 = 2KH2PO4 + H2O + CO2↑
The neutralization method is characterized by short process flow, mature technology, few equipment, high product quality, low energy consumption and low investment. This method uses thermal phosphoric acid and potash as raw materials. The production cost is high and it is difficult to apply in agriculture. It is mainly used for the production of food, medicine and industrial-grade potassium dihydrogen phosphate. In the future, the output of this method will drop more, but it is still There is no other way to shake the dominance of its products in the food industry. At present, the production capacity of neutralized potassium dihydrogen phosphate accounts for more than 90% of the total production capacity.
