Properties
White or colorless crystal, efflorescent in air, easily soluble in water but not in organic solution. Its water solution is alkaline. PH value of 1% solution is 12.1, relative density at 1.62g/cm3, melting point is 73.4 ℃.
One of CAS numbers of trisodium phosphate is 7601-54-9 [1], English is trisodium phosphate. Trisodium phosphate can be regarded as the product obtained by taking H3PO4 phosphate as the matrix, replacing three hydrogen ions H + in its molecular formula with three sodium atoms Na. Because H3PO4 phosphate is a ternary acid, there are three hydrogen ions in its molecular formula which can be replaced by metal elements.
Application
Trisodium Phosphate has been used in the food industry as emulsifying agent, buffer, and brine constituent, such as used in processed cheeses and dairy products.
