Properties:
 

Potassium pyrophosphate is prepared by melting dipotassium hydrogen phosphate and losing water molecules. It is a white crystalline powder or particle at room temperature. It has strong hygroscopicity in air. It is very soluble in water, but insoluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is alkaline and can inhibit food corruption and fermentation. The pH value of 1% aqueous solution is about 10.5. At 25 ℃, the solubility of potassium pyrophosphate in 100g water is 187G, It is hydrolyzed into potassium phosphate in acid or alkali solution, but the hydrolysis rate is very slow. It is mixed with water to form viscous slurry.

 

 

Application:

 

Potassium pyrophosphate is mainly used to replace potassium cyanide for cyanide free electroplating. With the development of national industrial modernization, the demand for potassium pyrophosphate is increasing. In industry, it is also used for surface treatment, high-grade detergent, paint, detergent, dispersant, buffer, etc; In food industry, it is used as emulsifier, tissue modifier, chelating agent and quality improver. Potassium pyrophosphate can also be prepared from dipotassium hydrogen phosphate.

Production method:

 

In the neutralization calcination method, 30% phosphoric acid is added into the neutralizer according to the proportion of 1mol phosphoric acid and 2mol potassium hydroxide. The potassium hydroxide solution is slowly added under stirring for neutralization reaction, and the pH value should be controlled at 8.4. The reaction solution is heated, activated carbon is added for decolorization, the insoluble matter is filtered, evaporated and concentrated, then cooled, crystallized and centrifuged, Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate (K2HPO4? 3H2O), heated to 120 ~ 130 ℃ to remove the crystallization water and turn it into anhydrous dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, calcined and polymerized at 500 ~ 600 ℃ for about 2 ~ 3H, and cooled to prepare the finished potassium pyrophosphate.
