Product Description

Liquid Desizing Enzyme Alpha Amylase

Enzyme for Textile with Low Dosage Rate

No damages to fabrics,

Makes texture soft, full, smooth and bright,

High concentration, can be used after dilution

DESCRIPTION

Heat-stable Alpha-Amylase TH-18 is produced from strains of Bacillus licheniformis through submerged fermentation, extraction and refining process. It is an endoamylase that can efficiently decrease viscosity of gelatinous starch solutions by randomly hydrolyzing starch, glycogen and its degradation products within the alpha-D-1 glycosidic bonds and produces soluble dextrins and oligosaccharides under high temperature and low pH conditions.

Declared Enzyme: Alpha-Amylase
Systematic Name:  EC 3.2.1.1, 1,4-alpha-D-glucan glucanohydrolase
Activity: 180,000 U/ml (minimum)
Appearance:  Sepia brown liquid
Product pH:  5.8 to 6.8
Specific Gravity:  1.10 to 1.25 g/ml

TH-18 has an excellent heat resistance and a wide pH range. It is suitable for desizing of textile fabrics such as cotton, silk, polyvinyl alcohol fibers, rayon fibers, blended fabrics, dyed poplin, etc.
As a high concentration product, TH-18 can be used after dilution.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS

Figure

EFFECT OF PH

TH-18 is active over a wide pH range, depending on the application conditions. The optimal pH is 5.4 to 6.4. (See Figure 1)

EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE

Optimum temperature of TH-18 for interval liquefaction is above 77°C. It liquefies starch substrates promptly at 83 to 90°C and demonstrates exceptional thermal stability at 100 °C.

The exact temperature optimum depends on actual processing conditions, such as pH, concentration of substrate and time. (See Figure 2)

INHIBITORS
Copper, titanium, and cobalt ions are moderate inhibitors for TH-18, whereas aluminum, lead and zinc ions act as strong inhibitors.

BENEFITS FOR TEXTILE INDUSTRY
Use of TH-18 can ensure the following benefits for textiles de-sizing:
 Enable desizing and colour-fixing at the same bath, shorten process flow and improve
productivity
 Enhances capillary tube effect of fabrics
 Improves working conditions for operators
 Enables less dosage, reduces processing costs

USAGE GUIDELINES
Recommended industrial operating conditions are at temperatures from 80 to 90 ° C and pH from 5.6 to 6.4. Usually, adjust the pH first, then add this product. Due to the structure of fabrics, the amount of sizing, the desizing process and the desizing equipment are different, the exact dosage rate of this product shall be determined after a series of small desizing tests prior to routine use. Generally, the recommended concentration of the enzyme solution is 0.05 to 1 g/L.

PACKAGING, STORAGE & SHELF-LIFE
 Standard packaging is 25kg, 30kg HDPE drums or 1125 kg IBC totes.
 Typical shelf-life is six months if this product is stored below 25°C in its original packaging, sealed and unopened, protected from sunlight. Its shelf-life will be eighteen months if this product is stored properly at 0 ∼10°C. This product has been formulated for optimal stability.
 Prolonged storage and/or adverse conditions such as higher temperature may lead to a higher dosage requirement, therefore should be avoided.
 Inhalation of enzyme dust and mists should be avoided. In case of contact with the skin or eyes, promptly rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. For detailed handling information, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
